Bio

Dr. Jacob Oh is Senior Consultant and Deputy head at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore. He is also the Chief of the Spine Service. Having graduated from New Zealand in 2003, he did his Orthopaedic residency training in Singapore and later travelled to Canada for a fellowship in complex spine surgery. Dr Jacob Oh is an established minimally invasive Spine surgeon and frequently conducts courses both locally and abroad to train other spine surgeons about these advanced techniques. He has been invited to speak at international conferences on numerous occasions, and also sits on the Global advisory board and as a Key opinion leader for the OLIF procedure (Lateral access Spine fusion). His other clinical interest is in Adult spinal deformity and Robotics/Navigation. Dr Jacob Oh has a strong focus on research and academic work. He has published in more than 50 peer-reviewed journals and has won numerous awards for his contributions in clinical work and teaching. Most recently in 2021, he received the Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) top ten best teacher award, and also the Deans award for teaching excellence (YLL School of Medicine, NUS). Dr Jacob is an active member of the spine community and serves on the Executive Committee of the Singapore spine society (SSS), ASEAN MISST, and is the current AOSpine chairperson for Singapore. He is also a member of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS) , North American Spine Society (NASS), Asia Pacific Spine Society (APSS) and the Pacific and Asian Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (PASMISS).
