Dr Loh Yong Joo is currently a consultant and deputy head of department in TTSH Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and a senior clinical lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. His clinical sub-specialty is in neurorehabilitation managing patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury and other neurological conditions. His research interests are in rehabilitation technologies especially in the areas of virtual reality, wearable sensors, telehealth, serious gaming and robotics. He is currently also the deputy director of Clinical Innovations in TTSH and a member of TTSH Clinical Research Committee and NHG Centre for Medical Technology Innovations. He has spearheaded NHG serious games initiatives for the past 3 years including co-directing Games for Health Innovation Centre (ALIVE), a collaborative centre by NHG and LKC to bring together healthcare institutions, educational institutions, industry partners with supporting government agencies and community organizations to research, validate and implement serious games in healthcare with focuses in healthcare education, mental and population health.
