Prof Philip Choo

Professor Philip Choo is Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the National Healthcare Group (NHG) since January 2015. Prior to that, he was Chief Executive Officer, TTSH and Deputy CEO, NHG from 2011-2014.
Prof Choo is internationally recognised as an accomplished Geriatrician with over 25 years of experience. He was awarded the TTSH Doctor of the Year in 1996.
Prof Choo’s leadership during the SARS epidemic, as head of the medical team, he was accorded the National Day Public Service Star Award in 2003. He was also awarded the National Day Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2011, National Day Long Service Medal in 2015, and the National Day Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 2019.
Prof Choo serves on several Boards which include the NHG-Johns Hopkins Singapore Institute Pte Ltd, Ren Ci Hospital, Ang Mo Kio-Thye Hua Kwan Hospital and Assisi Hospice. He also sits on various Committees and Chairs the Medical Advisory Panel appointed by MHA for Singapore Prison Service, Medical Advisory Board to MINDEF and SAF and Ageing Research Institute for Society and Education Advisory Board NTU.
