Dr Yew is a Senior Consultant at the Division of Endocrinology, National University Hospital. He is deeply passionate about person-centred care. He leads the ‘Year of Care’ pilot at NUH, and subsequently plays an active role in extending the program to primary care through the Patient Activation through Community Empowerment/Engagement for Diabetes Management (PACE-D) program, in collaboration with colleagues from the National University Polyclinics. He also has keen interests in the area of gestational diabetes, diabetes in pregnancy and thyroid disorders in pregnancy. In his free time, he enjoys doing Chinese calligraphy, painting and seal carvings, and his artwork has been exhibited internationally. He also contributes regularly to columns in print media where he writes about heart-warming stories he has encountered in the course of his work.
