Han Fook Kwang is a senior fellow at the S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University, and Editor-At-Large of The Straits Times. He was Editor of The Straits Times, Singapore’s main English language newspaper, from 2002 to 2012. Prior to joining the newspaper he was a civil servant in the Singapore Government Administrative Service. Fook Kwang is a board member of the Charity Council. He has served on the boards of several statutory boards including the Land Transport Authority (LTA), National University of Singapore (NUS), Building Construction Authority (BCA) and the National Environment Agency (NEA). He is a co-author of several books on Singapore’s founding Prime Minister, Lee Kuan Yew, including Lee Kuan Yew: The man and his ideas, and Hard Truths to keep Singapore going. His latest book Singapore in Transition: Hope, Anxiety and Question Marks was published in June 2016. He graduated from the University of Leeds in Mechanical Engineering in 1975 under a Colombo Plan scholarship. He also holds a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University under a Singapore Government scholarship.
