Wong Teck Yee is an experienced Family Physician and Medical Educator, having helmed different roles in diverse settings in healthcare and academia. He trained in Family Medicine and worked in a polyclinic for 6 years as Head & Senior Family Physician. His interest in Medical Education started when he taught medical and nursing students attached to the polyclinics. He later joined NUHS as an Assistant Professor & Consultant Family Physician, where he had the opportunity to direct NUS Medicine’s Family Medicine Undergraduate Education Programme. In 2011, he joined Tan Tock Seng Hospital and was appointed Associated Professor and Asst Dean in LKCMedicine, where he helped to set up and to develop the MBBS curriculum. Besides FM training, he also completed both Master of Public Health and Master of Health Profession’s Education. He was awarded the Human Manpower Development Programme scholarship to the Dept of General Practice in Monash University, Melbourne His current roles include: Education Director of National Healthcare Group and Academic Director of NHG College. He also consults for Singapore’s Ministry of Health and College of Family Physicians on professional training, assessments and quality improvement & assurance. He examines for Singapore’s post-graduate Family Medicine programmes and has been invited as external examiner for NUS Medicine’s MBBS Programme. He also sits on various National and University committees related to Family Medicine residency, medical school standards and staff/student well-being. He maintains an active outpatient clinical practice and teaches undergraduate modules related to early patient experience and social, community & public health.
