Nurliyana Daros is a lecturer at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, specialising in the interdisciplinary collaborative core course related to healthy living and wellbeing. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the National University of Singapore, Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health. In her sociological and public health research, as well as in her policy work and community engagement, she focuses on designing a more inclusive future, especially for youths, women and vulnerable populations. Certified in The Sphere Standards for Humanitarian Response and trained in Project Evaluation, Nurliyana was involved as a United Nations Volunteer Analyst for the Global Information Management, Assessment & Analysis Cell on COVID-19.
Nurliyana, an Executive Committee member of the Society of Behavioural Health, Singapore, enjoys uniting people and ideas through collaborative work, such as webinars on diabetes management and social isolation. Her contributions to the field have been recognised through various accolades, including the NUS Dean’s Medal and Prize, and the 2021 APEC Healthy Women, Healthy Economies Research Prize (runner-up) for her Master’s research on diabetes management among low-income women in Singapore. Her insights have also been shared on international platforms at the 19th International Conference on Integrated Care in San Sebastian, Spain in 2019, and the Raffles Dialogue on the Future of Human Wellbeing and Security in 2018.
