Mathew Mathews is Head of IPS Social Lab, a centre for social indicator research and a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. To date, Mathews has been involved in over forty research projects on a variety of social policy issues. His research related to ageing have included the Perceptions and Attitudes towards Seniors Survey, a study on the usefulness of counselling for the elderly and most recently a study on spirituality and ageing. Mathews has contributed to a number of advisory boards and panels including the Hua Mei Centre for Successful Ageing. He is also a Research Advisor to the Ministry of Social and Family Development, part of the Families for Life Council and on the VWOs-Charities Capability Fund Panel. Mathews is an adjunct faculty of the Geriatric Education & Research Institute.
