Sneak Preview to Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based nonjudgemental and non-confrontational counselling method that works on facilitating and engaging intrinsic motivation within the client in order to change negative behavior. The approach was developed by Professor William R Miller, PHD and Professor Stephen Rollnick, PHD to engage clients who are hesistant about making positive behavioural changes. The workshop is a sneak preview to equip participants with the basic understanding of MI skills in engaging conversations about change across a range of health-related issues. The course will introduce participants to the theory, spirit and principles in using MI to help people make positive changes, and help participants understand the practice and application of the skills in a real life setting.
