Abstracts FAQ

Is it compulsory to sign up for SHBC as a delegate before submitting the abstract?

Yes, you have to be registered before submitting the abstract. Please note that there will be no refund of registration fee in the event your abstract is not accepted for SHBC 2022. You will still be able to attend as a delegate.

What is the registration process for NHG Staff?

Is payment needed for NHG Staff?

No upfront registration payment for NHG Staff. SHBC Secretariat will bill the various institutes/departments/HR after the event.

How do I submit the abstract after HR has approved my delegate application?

You will receive an auto-generated email after the registration process is completed. In the email, you will have the details to log into the dashboard to submit your abstract.

Do I have to complete the abstract submission in 1 sitting?

No, you will be able to save your work and continue the submission in another sitting. Changes are allowed after submission, up until the abstract portal closes on 12 AUG 2022 1400hr.

How many abstracts can I submit?

There is no limit of the number of abstracts you can submit. You are encouraged to submit more.

Can I submit the abstract if I am the co-author of the study?

Yes, you may submit if you are the First or Co-author of the abstract. Do note that by submitting it, it is deemed that all authors have given permission and are aware of the submission.

I have submitted this abstract in another conference. Can I still submit for SHBC?

Yes, you can submit for SHBC as long as the abstract has not been published as a full manuscript /article previously.

CAN I SUBMIT QUALITY RELATED / CPIP PROJECTS?

No, you are encouraged to submit all quality-related / CPIP projects to NHG Quality Day. Contact person is jeannie_ys_teh@nhg.com.sg

Can I submit abstract for SHBC just for sharing purposes and opt out of competition?

Yes, you may submit for sharing purposes only. Please indicate in the checkbox when you submit the abstract.

What is the format of the onsite competition this year?

For 2022, all competition sessions (including Oral / poster sessions) will be held via zoom instead. Secretariat will send out more information closer to date.
