About SHBC
Jointly organised by the National Healthcare Group (NHG) and the National University Health System (NUHS), the Annual Scientific Congress (ASC) is now officially known as the ‘1st Singapore Health and Biomedical Congress (SHBC 2010)’. Moving away from old traditions and creating a new wave of information sharing among the different niche of the scientific and healthcare community in Singapore and Asia, SHBC 2010 will continue its predecessor’s goal and mission.
The theme for this inaugural Congress – ‘Improving Health for our Community – A Holistic and Integrated Approach’ looks at sharing latest topics and issues relating to clinical research and treatment of major diseases and disorders in a holistic and integrated manner. Major tracks at SHBC 2010 will not only focus on its own specialty but also discuss how these specialties will lead to ones’ overall well being, how it interlinks with ones’ social determinants of health and its impact on the community health as a whole.
Serving as the highlight of SHBC 2010, the Scientific Competition is now an open competition for all medical and scientific professionals in Singapore. SHBC 2010 will be awarding each of the major disciplines in the medical arena. The awards are:
- Singapore Clinician-Investigator Award
